UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — It was a packed house for the celebration of life services for 26-year-old elementary school teacher Neshante Davis and her 2-year-old daughter Chloe Davis-Green, who were gunned down in a child support dispute.
“It’s terrible,” says Gregory Barnes, who is an extended family member.
Barnes, like many others at the Ark of Safety Christian Church in Upper Marlboro on Saturday, were numb and dumbfounded over what happened to Davis and her child. On Feb. 2, police found Davis and her toddler shot to death in Fort Washington, Maryland. Prince George’s County’s police chief has called the crime “callous” and “cold-hearted.”
Barnes said he had a difficult time at the funeral.
Chloe and her mother were given a police escort to Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, Md. following the church services.
Police say the child’s father, Daron Boswell-Johnson, 25, admitted to the killings. In December, he was ordered by a judge to pay $600 a month in child support.
Boswell-Johnson has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder. He is being held without bail.
