…suspicious package found at Northwestern.

HYATTSVILLE, Md. (ABC7) — Fire officials responded to Northwestern High School Tuesday morning for reports of a suspicious package.

Someone allegedly found what appeared to be a speaker or amplifier with wires wrapped in duct tape in front of the school at 7000 Adelphi Road in Hyattsville, according to fire officials.

Students were evacuated from the building for approximately 15 or 20 minutes before being allowed back in.

The bomb squad responded to the scene and found the package to be “nonhazardous” around 12 p.m.

Officials then gave the “all-clear,” according to police.
